On view through this week at Horton Gallery (Sunday L.E.S.) is the exhibition boardroom no.1, featuring new sculpture by artist Taylor Davis. The exhibition marks the artist’s eleventh solo exhibition and features humble and reductive forms created of wood. Many of the works in the exhibition are in direct dialogue with object-based sculpture, minimalist installation, architecture and furniture design. For boardroom no. 1, it is stated that the artist is “looking at the intersection of two very different sites of exchange, the corporate meeting room and the lumberyard.”
Davis lives and works in Boston, MA, and received degrees from Bard College, Tufts University, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. The artist has completed recent exhibitions with Office Baroque Gallery, Antwerp; Samson Projects, Boston, MA; and White Columns, New York, NY. Davis was included in the 2004 Whitney Biennial.
